It's not a person, and it's not a chatbot anyone has to operate; your loved one just answers the phone and talks. After the first year, keeping the memoir online is optional - $9 a month, for as long as you choose - every story, voice recording and photo there for your family. And you can download the stories and photos at any time - it's yours.
- What is included in the printed heirloom book?
- A hardcover book printed on cream archival stock with Lora serif typography. The book grows with every call - you can reprint a new edition once new chapters have landed.
- How long does the digital memoir last?
- Your first year is included with the package. After that, $9 a month keeps every story, the voice that told it and every photo online for as long as your family keeps it. Cancel any time and you keep the heirloom book regardless - it is yours. Your stories and photos are yours to download at any time, too.
- Do we have to keep paying $9 a month?
- No. After the first year it's entirely optional. Keeping it with us keeps the memoir a living thing: we host it securely, and your recordings and photos are mirrored nightly to a second data centre, the whole family can keep reading, listening and adding photos, you can keep editing and shaping the stories, order new editions of the printed book as it grows, and add packs of extra calls when there's a new chapter of life to tell. Or download the stories and photos and look after the files yourself - and if you ever stop, you'll have at least 90 days to take everything with you first. The printed book is yours regardless.
- Can the whole family see it?
- Yes. Siblings, cousins, grandchildren - everyone you invite signs in with their own LifeLoom login, and the memoir stays private to the people you choose. They can add photos and small comments to chapters too, with the storyteller and the account owner in control of what gets included.
- What if our 20 calls run short, or we want more?
- Twenty calls is what almost every family needs to reach a substantial, dignified memoir - but if you want more, you can add to the package once you are in. We will work it out with you.
